A New Park for Wellington Point: Have Your Say!

It’s an exciting time for Botanix – with the master plan shaped by community, now it’s time to focus on the park in the South-West pocket of the site. This will be a new neighbourhood park for everyone to enjoy – from our longstanding neighbours in Wellington Point to future residents.

The feedback from community during the master plan engagement was clear; you want wonderful places to gather, play, and connect with nature. We want to bring that vision to life, and we’d love your input.

What Makes a Great Local Park?

What types of play should the park include? What does this area need that other local parks don’t offer? How can this space reflect the identity of the Redlands?

Be part of shaping this new space for the community, share your ideas and views in our short survey. Please click the button below.

Please note the survey will close at 12pm on 19 October 2025.

The Story So Far

Building on Community’s Vision

The journey to create Botanix has always been a collaborative one. Starting in 2022, a conversation with hundreds of Redlands residents through the Future of Home and Botanix Reimagined initiatives helped to create the overall master plan. Now, the focus turns to one of its most important community features: the new neighbourhood park.

Community asked for:

Places to gather: The most popular request was for vibrant social hubs, with 70% of survey respondents wanting spaces for family gatherings, picnics, and socialising.

A focus on play: Play was a top priority, especially adventure play, and opportunities for play to connect with nature.

Appreciation for nature & green space: There was a strong desire to preserve the natural character of the area and create plenty of open green space.

Strong connections: Over half of the community (56%) wanted connected pathways for walking and cycling, linking the site to the wider Wellington Point neighbourhood.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is this park for? This neighbourhood park is for everyone. It’s a community asset for our long-standing neighbours in Wellington Point, the wider Redlands community, and the future residents of Botanix.
  • Where will the park be located? The park will be located in the south-west corner of the Botanix site at the corner of Pitt Road and Nelson Road.
  • What happens after this survey? Your ideas will be given to the landscape architects to create the draft concept design for the park. The community will then be invited to review that design in a second phase of engagement and provide feedback on the details.
  • What’s the timeline for the park? The park design is likely to be completed early to mid-2026 after which the design will be lodged with Council along with the first stages of Botanix. It is envisaged the park will be completed subject to the approvals in mid to late 2027.
  • Are you removing the dam? As part of the south-west pocket concept plan, the existing dam will be removed and the area rehabilitated with planting. The space will continue to serve as short-term storm water detention. The team is aware of flooding that occurs along Pitt Road during storm events. The removal of the dam will not impact on this occurrence.
  • What were the outcomes from the previous engagement? Fiteni undertook extensive engagement to inform the development of the project Master Plan. Findings from the exercises can be found both phases can be viewed here:
