As part of Fiteni’s Parkwood community, we’re investing beyond the development boundary to help restore and strengthen the adjoining Council-owned reserve at Poloni Place.
Approximately 10,000 locally appropriate native plants will be established across the reserve, from groundcovers and shrubs through to canopy trees.
Together with upgraded stormwater infrastructure, the rehabilitation program is designed to improve biodiversity, strengthen habitat, reduce erosion and help create a healthier, more resilient landscape for the wider community.

More Than Replacing What’s Disturbed
The rehabilitation of Poloni Place goes beyond simply restoring areas affected by construction.
Detailed environmental assessments identified opportunities to improve the existing condition of the reserve and create stronger long-term ecological outcomes.
The planting program will help:
- establish a diverse native vegetation corridor
- improve habitat and resources for local wildlife
- strengthen existing vegetation communities
- increase biodiversity
- stabilise soils and reduce erosion
- help filter stormwater runoff and improve water quality
- create a greener, more resilient natural area for the community
This is about leaving the area in a better position for the future.

Why Are We Working Within the Council Reserve?
Stormwater naturally moves across property boundaries and through the wider catchment.
Engineering investigations undertaken for Parkwood identified an opportunity to improve an existing drainage corridor within the adjoining Council reserve rather than simply connecting the development into the infrastructure already there.
By upgrading the system, stormwater can move more effectively through the catchment while helping reduce erosion and improve the long-term resilience of the drainage network.
Rather than delivering only the minimum infrastructure required for the development, Fiteni is investing in a broader solution designed to benefit both existing and future residents.
What Will Be Delivered?
Works at Poloni Place include upgraded stormwater drainage infrastructure, improvements to the existing drainage corridor and extensive environmental rehabilitation.
Once complete, disturbed and selected existing areas will be revegetated with native species selected to complement the surrounding environment.
The result will be a drainage corridor that works more effectively while also providing stronger environmental outcomes.

Building Homes. Improving Places.
For Fiteni, good development is about more than the homes within a new community.
It means considering how infrastructure connects with the surrounding neighbourhood, how landscapes perform over time and where there are opportunities to deliver a better outcome than simply meeting minimum requirements.
At Parkwood, that means investing in better stormwater management, around 10,000 native plants and the long-term rehabilitation of Poloni Place.
Because the places around our communities matter too.
